Polar Unisex F6 Heart Rate Monitor Color: Black I have recently taken up excerise with a Personal Trainer and on my own, trying for 3 times per week. I had the opportunity to train with an F6 which promoted me to purchase my own.

I bought the Pink F6 – firstly for the functionality, being able to see my heart rate, calories burnt and have summaries keeps me motivated and I find that I will do an ‘extra’ 10 minutes in the gym just to reach a target. It also motivates me to work harder to keep my heart rate at a certain level. The second reason is because it was pink! Most of my gym gear is pink which the Pink F6 complements. I may be not at my most attractive when working out, however I like to feel that I have made an effort with my appearance and this is an accessory.

If you are thinking of buying one, I would recommend it. Attractive, functional and most of all motivating.

Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch, Black/Silver/Blue, Mid Size Watch is the same as you would expect from a Timex Ironman. The watch is very comfortable. It looks like a regular sports watch. It appears to be well made. I am sure that it will only last about 2 years but that is alright for the money. Usually the timex ironmans tend to get beat up looking before they actually die. The interface is very intuitive. It works like a standard Ironman. You can display the heart rate in many different ways. I like that the time is visible while the heart rate monitor is functioning. I also like that you can display the heart rate in a bunch of different ways. I don’t really use all of the fancy features. I did use it once just to see how it worked- it worked fine. (Avg hr, peak hr, blah blah). All that I do is keep my heart rate between 140-160. I would not count on the calorie counter to work. The recovery heart rate is a handy feature that is really easy to use. I think that measuring recovery heart rate is one of the best measures of heart health.

I bought this watch to replace an Omron that I bought off of Amazon for . The Omron was alright, but it was telling my that my heart rate was 220 plus beats a minute once in a while. And I wanted to see if I was going to have a cardiac arrest. The timex is coded, so I don’t get any interference from the equipment or other heart monitors. The timex road trainer is superior in every way to the omron.

The only real downside is that the chest strap is a little short for big guys. I am 6′2″ 240 lbs with a wide chest (48″) and it is a little snug on me. I am hoping that it stretches out after a little while. This is a small annoyance that I don’t mind dealing with for how well this watch works. Most people won’t need to worry about that. I would say that only if you are bigger than me that it would be a real problem. It is nice to leave the watch on all day and then just throw the strap on when I go to the gym. During the day, the watch reminds me to hit the gym after work!

The heart rate is very accurate and reliable on this watch. It works consistently with no problems what so ever. This is definately worth the extra money. Using a heart rate montitor is a must to get the most out of cardio workouts. I will always use one from now on.

I had a polar a few years ago, and that thing was no where near as user friendly as this watch. This thing beats my old polar in every way. Also- I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing the polar outside of the gym!

Timex T5J031 Unisex Digital Fitness Heart Rate Monitor Watch I have used this new monitor four times now. It has worked flawlessly for me. Immediate and uninterrupted monitoring with no problems. One concern I had was about whether there are display options that show heartrate in large numbers in the center. Yes. They aren’t shown in the pictures here, but they do exist. In fact just about every display option imaginable exists. I have not used the lap/split feature, but I think I have used everything else successfully and am very pleased with it. The only caution, which others have noted is that the monitor strap might not be comfortable for large people. I am a measured 41″ at the chest point where this fits. I use the strap fully extended. It isn’t bothersome when I’m exercising, but it feels snug when I put it on. If you are much bigger, I think it might bother you. You can create a custom target zone or use one of the built in ones that adapt to your max heart rate. The “out of zone” alarm can be turned on or off directly from one of the buttons, but doesn’t have a “silence” function, to stop it but leave it operating. Some other reviewer complained about this, but I find that if you just slow down (or speed up) you can silence it fairly quickly. Unless you are someplace where a few beeps will bother others, this should usually be ok. Of course, if you are wearing earphones you can’t hear it anyway. There is no “vibrate mode”. Overall I think this a great value.

I really like the Forerunner 50. It was fairly simple to set up and the foot pod was close enough for me with it’s accuracy. You can always set adjust it. You do need to wet the heartrate monitor a little before starting your workout or it won’t work until you have a good sweat going. The USB stick works great, I like being able to see my heart rate fluctuations and my rate of speed on the treadmill. I do wish it would work with the eliptical though, I usually warm up there.

Anyway, for the price it’s a great product. I look forward to purchasing the bicycle pod and trying that out next. As for the battery running out, mine was delivered out. So if you have an issue, run down to your local CVS or Walgreens and get a 2-pack for $[...] Problem solved.

Battery Status At A Glance

Defining the amount of energy available in a battery is a complex task since battery age, discharge current and temperature all influence the actual battery capacity. High performance measuring circuits, along with complex software algorithms, are used to exactly determine the remaining battery capacity.
