Casio Men’s GW7900B-1 G-Shock Solar Atomic Black Digital Sport Watch I have had the GW7900B for a few months now, and I am very happy with it. The watch is all black, and the digital face is inverted so that it is black with light gray for the numbers. That means the watch is pretty much all black, which is a very nice look. The inverted digital face does make it a little tough to read in low light situations, but the G button just below the watch face lights up the time, date and other information with the same kind of indiglo effect that I have had for years with Timex Ironman watches. The lighting effect makes this watch easy to read at any time. You also have the option to have the lighting effect happen with the turn of you wrist so you can see the watch information without having to push a button. This is a large watch. The body of the watch is almost 3/4 of an inch thick, which is the thickest watch I have come across. While it is a large watch, it is very light, because most of the body is plastic. The face of the watch is scratch resistant, and it is recessed into the watch about a quarter of an inch, so it is well protected.

The watch is loaded with features. 1) The time is set every night through radio signals from an atomic clock. Every night at a few minutes after midnight the watch will try to update the time from the atomic clock. If it is unable to update the time, then it will try again every hour through the night until it gets an update. This makes the watch very accurate. It has been off by less than half a second from any of my other atomic clocks or the atomic time that you can get over the internet. This will be the most precise watch you will probably ever own. 2) The battery on the watch is recharged by solar panels in the watch face. The fully charged battery is supposed to be able to last about nine months without a recharge, but the solar panel in the watch face picks up a charge in direct or indirect sunlight keeping the watch battery topped of unless you hide in a dark room all day. When I first received the watch the battery indicator showed the battery was a little low. I put the watch in indirect sunlight by setting it on a table by a window that the sun does not shine through. About 3 hours later I checked on the watch, and the battery was fully charged. Since then the battery has remained fully charged with just the partial sunlight the watch gets from me commuting to work. So I don’t expect any battery problems. A cool feature for those of you who may not use the watch for a while, it turns off late at night and will not turn back on until you pick it up. So the battery does not drain much if you do not use the watch. 3) I travel across the country for work, and the watch is very easy to reset to other time zones. It also has a world time feature that lets you check the time in every time zone around the world just by clicking through the different zones. 4) Like just about every digital watch this one also has a stop watch. The stop watch capabilities are not as thorough as sports watches. For example, you can get a split time, but you wouldn’t be able to take several split times like you could with a Timex Ironman watch. 5) The watch has a countdown timer so you can let yourself know when you need to stop what you are doing and move on to the next thing. 6) There is an alarm function that allows you to set four alarms and one alarm with a snooze feature. 7) The watch shows the phase of the moon and where tide is. The watch is water resistant to 20 bar, which converts to something like 170 meters. So you can pretty much wear the watch in most underwater conditions you will find yourself.

So to wrap things up, this is turning out to be a great watch for me. It is super accurate, does not look like it will ever need a battery change, and looks really nice. I recommend it, and I would buy it again.

Diesel Dz7119 Digital Mens Watch I love the big lcd screen and the simple functionality. I believe watches are suppose to be simple and elegant. To top it off this Diesel watch comes with an easy to read lcd even if you have bad eye sight. It also had a light up lcd which I find more useful than glowing meter which gets dimmer over time. Despite the glossy looking design it can take a beating quite well. I scrap it a couple of time by accident, but not a single scratches to be found. Needless to say you shouldn’t be scratching your watch. Anyway this was a satisfying purchase.

Timex Men’s T48042 Expedition Classic Digital Outdoor Performance Chrono Alarm Timer Watch Beware the Indiglo button on the face! You can drain the battery in a couple of clever ways. I took mine off at night until a couple of papers got laid over it while it was face-up on a desk, and a book was placed on the papers by someone who didn’t know the watch was underneath. D’oh! After having a new battery installed – a jeweler had to do it – I wore it to bed, only to spend a good portion of the night lying on it while too deeply asleep to notice. D’oh again! Otherwise, a very good watch. Not the most stylish watch on market, but it has a good strong alarm, and the three alarms with daily/weekday/weekend options are very handy. Also not a huge watch, very well-sized for smaller arms like mine. Despite the problem with the Indiglo button, I strongly prefer it to a G-shock.

Casio Men’s PAW2000-1CR Pathfinder Digital Multi-Function Resin Band Watch so, like you i read every review i could on this watch..which one to get, its alot of money, so i kept reading everything i could, the PAW 2000 is excellent, 1st the bad things…the altimeter isnt really accurate, it works on air pressure, so at my house my altitude can change up to 100 feet due to weather conditions…no biggy though…i can reset it manually(20ft increments)just have a reference to zero it in at(find online easy). 2nd is the radio updates it recieves at night…its kinda a hit and miss depending on weather conditions( and where you put it at), i live in washington state, kinda far from fort collins CO, but mine updates about 3 times a week, i also have manually updated it during the day and takes about 10 minutes and afew trys(has a indicator on your signal strength). 3rd the LED backlight needs to be alittle longer, you have a option of 1 sec, 3 sec…a 5-8 sec would have been nice, especially when you trying to use one of the ABC functions at night and they have a slight delay to get thier measurments. 4th temp doesnt get accurate readings unless the watch is off your wrist, or temp is higher then 90F, takes about 10-20 minutes to get accurate reading(+/- 1-3 degrees according to airforce base weather station a mile away). 5th alarm could be alittle louder
6th very big instruction manual, take it 1 step at a time, time zone 1st, next set you lat/long as close as you can(comes with lat/long for major cities)shouldnt be hard to find, this will get you your sunrise/sunset times(which is why i bought this over the 1500…and accurate with no preprogramming by user except for lat/long)also, setting for GMT(zulu) wont work with daylight savings time…so pick another city(lisbon/paris) if you use GMT for second time zone like i do or you’ll be a hour off…thats about it…all the measurements except for mentioned above are fairly accurate, has 5 alarms, chimes at top of hour, 12/24 hour format, timer(24hour coutndown) stop watch, and barometric grapgh that auto updates every 2 hours letting you get a good idea on how weather is gonna be….but remember…its a watch..used to tell time, which it does accurately..its nice saying…im right your wrong, my watch is synced off a atomic clock:) great buy, no regrets…hope this helps:)

Timex Men’s T49686 Digital Compass Canvas Strap Expedition Watch Just got this watch in today from Amazon. The first thing I noticed is the design. Very simple and easy to read face without too many overcomplicated distracting features. I want to quickly glance at a watch and know what time it is and sometimes get the date. This watch fits the bill nicely.

Setting the date and time was super easy and not overly complicated. I didn’t even crack open the instructions. The buttons are nicely designed and easy to push. The digital feature makes no noise, which I like a lot because my previous Timex watch had hands and you could definitely hear the second hand ticking. I think that it was to remind me that the watch could “take a licking and keep on ticking.” Sorry folks, couldn’t help that pun.

The digital compass feature is an added cool bonus and the azimuth directions are fairly accurate when I placed it next to my old reliable Silva compass. This watch weighs a svelte 1.4 ozs according to my digital weigh scale and doesn’t feel like I have a boat anchor on my wrist.

Like the previous poster mentioned, I noticed some loose lint on the fabric band which was easily burned off with a Bic lighter. The fabric is a bit stiff around the wrist, but will probably loosen and conform better once it gets broken in. The watch strap has the standard pins that lock into the side bars of the watch, which is very convenient for finding and installing standard replacement straps. I almost purchased a different version of this watch until I found out that replacement straps can only be purchased direct from Timex, which is such a pain because you have to wait for shipping and the price markup is just ridiculous. Another previous poster mentioned the watch resetting itself, but I haven’t experienced that phenomenon yet. Maybe they just got a dud, which happens.

Overall first impressions of this watch are good, but only time will tell. So far my only concern is how well the fabric wrist strap will hold up to the everyday rigors of life and whether the plastic bezel lens will be prone to scratches compared to a glass bezel lens.

Casio Men’s FE10-1A Classic Digital Watch The thinness, uncluttered large display, and price make this watch unique. However, echoing other reviews, not only is it easy to inadvertently push the button to choose between 12h/24h mode (this happens constantly), but every so often I find myself inadvertently ending up in “set” mode, and resetting the seconds, which pushes the clock ahead by some seconds. So while the clock is accurate on its own, over a couple of months it ends up drifting ahead due to this inadvertent resetting. I have been wearing this watch for over a year due to its near-perfect minimalist design, but if time accuracy is paramount, this is probably not the watch for you.
